Fantastic! Ended up with several of these as an excellent last-minute Christmas present.. me included

From sheer curiosity, does anyone know who the company who makes these is? (Technika being the rebranded name).

Hiya folks,

Thanks to all who posted on this - i have been looking at these for weeks and trying to decide what to do as my 3 sons want one for xmas. I bid for and won one for £16 on ebay and thought that i was doing well there. Alas no when i see that i got 3 for less than £30. The ebay one i will keep for myself.

Anyway to cut a long story short, Tesco Extra, Kingsway, Dundee had loads of them left - on at least 2 shelves near the door and at another location in the shop down near the dvd's etc etc i think. You cant miss them. If you still want one and want me to try and get one for you if you live locally just let me know via pm and i will see what i can do no my next trip.

Just picked up 2 of these from my local Tesco in Falkirk.

The display where they had them was empty, but when i asked they told me to go to the customer services desk, as they only had a few left.

Its such a great bargain as I had been looking at them in Comet, they have a Proline 256mb for £19.99 which i thought was cheap. Glad I hadnt got round to buying one!

Also, play.com are selling their own branded version for £29.99:

Interesting they state that its upto 15 hours of playback from one AAA. I think mine is a bit more power hungry than that.

They've got them in Lowestoft Tesco, too (the big one). If you don't see any on the shelf, ask a member of staff, as they have loads out the back.

Just back from Tesco Extra, Edinburgh, Corstorphine where they just got a huge pile of new stock in.

Must be at least 200 in a bin in the centre isle next to where the toys are.

I just bagged 4 for me & a mate.

Luckily just managed to get mine from Canada Water Tesco's. Phoned about 10:00 and they said they had just got some in and put them out. I got there about 11:30 and just about found the 3 that I wanted!

(They were amongst the display - there were none on the actual shelf.) :eek:
