Help! How can I save money when buying £250 of vouchers?

Hi,
I need to buy £250 of vouvchers as gifts for Christmas for 5 friends/relatives.
I thought it may be a good idea to buy High Street or Debenhams vouchers in "bulk" and that I may be able to make a saving this way.
Would I be able to open an account and save 10% by buying vouchers? I don't know if vouchers are eligible.
Does anyone else have any other suggestions to save me a bit of cash.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated....

nope, sorry.
You could always give everyone £40 intead and save yourself £50
Just bought MIL a £50 M&S voucher (she asked for this) for xmas, and today she is coming round with cash for my DH's birthday (probably the same amount - he asked for cash towards some gadget he wants). I find it all quite insane. My side family don't bother with gifts for adults now but MIL insists on keeping the farce alive!0 -
I dont suppose you have a teenager? alot of high street shops give 10-20% student discount.
It may also be worth enquiring about store cards, discounts can be upto 30% off your first purchase, and it wont hurt to ask!
Another route is ebay, large quantities of vouchers tend to sell for quite a bit less. Unlike the smaller quantities which go close to the vouchers worth.0 -
have you checked out any of the cashbacksites to see if they do offers eg quidco, cashbackkings, ipoints, pigsback etc...
You could see if tescos sell gift cards for the places you want and check whether you would get clubcard points on the vouchers?
You could try and "earn" them thro unrelated buys on things like ipoints but they may not be credited to your ipoints account in time for xmas now... but a thought for next year...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I second ebay. You're likely to get around a 15 - 20 % discount depending on where you buy them for and how often you look.
I always buy Topshop vouchers and get around £100 of vouchers for £75 (and then my student discount instore yay!)0 -
I remember one time buying a hundred ponds
worth of gift vouchers in Argos and because
they had a promotion running where if you spend
a hundred pounds you got a ten pound voucher
free
the pound key on my keyboard is not working:j:j:j0 -
If you know anyone who is a member of countdown (teachers, nurses etc)you can often get a reduction on vouchers if you buy a lot. You have to be a member of a union eg nut etc

i can't remember the website im affraid but i came across a site (i think from here) and you could "sell" your vouchers to them and they sold them on for less than their value. people often sell vouchers on ebay but im too scared to buy them!Best wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card
