I think pre-lit has the (ordinary standard fairy lights) lights already fastened to the tree branches whereas fibre optic is thin fibre already in the branches which ARE the lights, iyswim.

    arn't hubbys wonderful eh? lol

prelit trees have normal tree lights attatched to the branches so you don't have to evenly space them when you put the tree up, but you do have to be careful putting the tree away, they can be easily crushed!

Fibre optic have one bulb in the base of the tree, and thousands of tiny strands threaded through the tree that the light travels down to give the light. This makes the tree branches soft, and are really tough, if you have young children or pets that like to run around and knock everything over!

Hiya, you should go mad and have a real tree this year and then buy a half price onr in the January sale

    Or

wait till nearer Chrishmas as the sales now seem to start in advance of the big day.

I haave a fibre optic one I bought in thr half price sale. it looks wonderful, but I would never have paid the full price for it.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.
