Finance For New Business

I have just set up a small business.
Now I was really worried about business bank account becasue of my poor credit rating, but I sailed through the interview with the business manager and now have Lloyds Business account, he did say I had 1 default but it was years ago, so don't seem to be a risk.

I'm already to start trading, have a massive list of potential customers to approach, have a website and now a business account, now this is where I am confused, I can't seem to get finance on the van I need to run my business, the finance companies just turn me right down.

The only thing I can think of is because I have no income as I'm going to be self employed.

So I am in a bit of a snag.

Any ideas any one has would be much appreciated, as i am running out of time as i was hoping to be up and runing by end of November to pick up some xmas work.
