Win tickets to the world premiere of WatchmenThis is one of those 'money can't buy' prizes
    guardian.co.uk

Do you see yourself as a budding movie director? Would you like to win tickets to the Watchmen movie premiere (cert 18 TBC) and to take part in an exclusive Q&A session with director Zack Snyder before the screening? If so, read on…

To be in with a chance of scooping what is a fantastic prize (overnight accommodation for two in a top London hotel is also part of it, along with £100 in spending money), you'll need to get your pencils out and produce a storyboard.

Most directors rely on these things to bring their vision to life and to ensure the filming runs smoothly. Here's what Snyder says on the subject:

"Storyboards play a vital part in my process long before I start sharing them with my team. It is a key part of my process for envisioning the entire film from start to end. The bottom line is that, although it takes me a tremendous amount of time during the pre-production to draw each and every frame (2,581 in the case of Watchmen), in the end, the shooting boards become one of my most useful tools."

We want you to produce one to accompany the script below. The scene is from Watchmen and was specially chosen by Zack Snyder. A panel of expert judges chosen by Paramount Pictures UK will select the five best storyboards received, while Zack Snyder himself will be picking the overall winner. This is an amazing opportunity to get your work seen by a bona fide Hollywood luminary.

The four runners-up will each receive the Watchmen Companion Book and an exclusive Watchmen Night Owl Watch.

The important but slightly boring details about how to enter the competition can be found in the terms and conditions below (and they are important, so make sure you read them before you start drawing).

Now on to the scene we want you to storyboard.

INT. RORSCHACH'S PRISON CELL – NIGHT

Down the dark corridors, a ROAR is building. ALARMS ring. Big Figure and his two Thugs appear at the door.

    BIG FIGURE
He's dead, Rorschach, the riot's already begun. While everyone's distracted, we thought we'd bring you a housewarming gift. Something from the machine shop.

Fat Thug wheels an ELECTRICAL GRINDER to the door. Rorschach sits, idly TEARING his PRISON SHIRT into STRIPS.

    FAT THUG
Hey, Boss, y'notice? None of that 'small world, tall order' crap, cuz he knows once we slice open this lock, he's next on the block.

    RORSCHACH
    Fat chance.

    FAT THUG
You're dead, Rorschach! We got a prison full of killers out here! What have you got?

Rorschach SPINS, WRAPPING A SHIRT-STRIP AROUND FAT THUG'S WRISTS, trapping his hands inside the cell.

    RORSCHACH
    Your hands. My pleasure.

Rorschach SNAPS Fat Thug's pinky fingers. Fat Thug SHRIEKS. Rorschach roughly binds the fingers around the bars. Dumb Thug tries to reach the grinder around Fat Thug's body.

    DUMB THUG
I can't reach the lock. Should I cut the bars?

Dumb Thug SNAPS Fat Thug's neck. He then CUTS OFF Fat Thug's hands with the grinder, pushes the corpses out of the way to reach the lock. Big Figure grins at Rorschach.

    BIG FIGURE (CONT'D)
Now you find out what the score is.

    RORSCHACH
    One-nothing. Come and get me.

There are plenty of free hints and tips available online if you need some storyboarding assistance.

Good luck. Mr Snyder looks forward to seeing one of you at the premiere…

    ANSWER: Money

We’re celebrating the release of the new movie ‘The Damned United’, at cinemas from March 27 (certificate 15) and we’re offering one lucky person the chance to win a pair of tickets to attend the film’s London premiere on March 18th!

From the best-selling and critically acclaimed novel by David Peace, The Damned United is directed by Tom Hooper and stars Michael Sheen as the legendary, opinionated football manager Brian Clough, with Timothy Spall as his right hand man, only friend, and crutch Peter Taylor.

Set in 1960’s and 1970’s England, THE DAMNED UNITED tells the confrontational and darkly humorous story of Brian Clough’s doomed 44 day tenure as manager of the reigning champions of English football Leeds United. Previously managed by his bitter rival Don Revie (Colm Meaney), and on the back of their most successful period ever as a football club, Leeds had an aggressive and cynical style of football - an anathema to the principled yet flamboyant Brian Clough, who had achieved astonishing success as manager of Hartlepool and Derby County building teams in his own vision with trusty lieutenant Peter Taylor. Taking the Leeds job without Taylor by his side, with a changing room full of Don’s boys, would lead to an unheralded examination of Clough’s belligerence and brilliance over 44 days. This is that story. The story of The Damned United. Jim Broadbent plays Sam Longson, Derby Chairman. THE DAMNED UNITED was filmed in locations throughout Yorkshire, Leeds, Derbyshire and Spain
