Placed one order using my name and email address. order accepted. Confirmation email received.

Placed second order in wife's name and email address, etc. No confirmation received.

On neither occasion were we offered the option to use credit cards. There was a message to say that payment could ONLY be paid via an account.

Could this be connected to stock levels? I suggest this as a possibility as perhaps they don't take payment for items which are not in stock for immediate despatch. If so, that would imply that all orders paid for by credit card are in stock, but if an item on an order is out of stock, it would go on the account. Just wondering out loud, really.

As their systems are such naff affairs, I'm not counting on receiving the goods, but if they come, it will be a bonus - providing, of course, that Empire don't mess up the accounting side ...

If you select the New Customer Box at the top of the first checkout screen you get the option to pay by CC.
  • why cant u order by credit card any longer :-/
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.:D
  • People having trouble ordering..

    Click checkout,
Then click where it says "If you are a NEW CUSTOMER click here"
then click on "Pay by credit / debit card?"

I've got my order confirmation but like everybody else, no account details yet.

Cheers to the poster of this, I've saved way more than I've actually spent (which is only about £400 after the extra 30% code) :o
    Nice to save.
  • Thanks rasanmoney - placed an order about 10.30 this morning and another at approx 15.30. Just sit back now and see if they arrive. Best not to get hopes up too much. Very pleased if comes through.

    Thanks again.

    Ten digicams?? Six tellies??

I think Empire would have him/her sussed as an eBay trader - or just plain greedy - and refuse to supply the goods.

    OR ...

They DO supply the goods, but that means that ordinary folks can't get, cos they've sold out.

    AND ...

I do tend to think that this kind of practice shows a certain greed on the part of the buyer, which I find sad (in the proper meaning of the word).

Before I'm shot down in flames, I know that m00nie (and anybody else) has a perfect right to order 10 000 of the things, if s/he wants. And s/he wants the dosh to spend on the kids, etc.

But I still find it reflects badly on human nature.
