http://sewgreen.blogspot.com/2007/07/recycled-slipper-tutorial.html
I am going to give these a go. If successful I will make them for xmas preezies. There does'nt seem to be a pattern so I presume you draw round the foot.

I think this pattern would be great to adapt for pixie shoes for dressing up box or adult fancy dress
  • Thanks for that Jinny, I'll give them a try, I some pieces of fleece around somewhere.

Good idea for using up old children fleeces that they have grown out of and are too worn to recycle at a charity shop.

Great, thanks for this, I now have a new project to take to my textile class after half term!

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Wow, these look good - I'm going to make a few pairs for guests as we ask them to take off their shoes because we've just got new beige/cream carpets in the hall and room. This way, they won't feel that we're just being mean to them! (no one has refused to take them off so far!)

They look great. Will definitely give these a go. Would make cute little baby shoes too, but they might be a bit fiddly.

I used to make them for my dolls when I was younger :D
The sole I'd do a double thickness with cardboard in the middle ;)

Oh that's a great idea for visitors. I think they might be a bit slippy though on my laminate flooring in the lounge so I am thinking what I could stick on the soles to stop accidents. I would love peeps to post pics of their creations to inspire me. I don't have a digi camera myself to show and tell.

Funnily enough I trimmed down a length of table protector earlier this week and was wondering what to do with the left over bits......cos I hate throwing anything:o . The fleecy side is v. slippery on laminate floors:rotfl: but the rubberised side isn't slippy at all :j - guess I've got enough to make new slippers for the whole family....:D

Shall have to have a play later this week.......will let you know how it turns out.

Use any 3d fabric paint (they come in pens) or thick glues to draw a design on the bottom. It'll give the rubbery grip you want (like on slipper socks) and still be washable too.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
