ok what do you make of this,
i went BR in june this year, and had a joint acc with my partner who didn't go BR, the acc was £700 OD and after a few threatening letters from them heard nothing till a few days ago, got another letter and rang em up to tell them i was BR but mt partner wasn't they said that the acc is closed and to ignore the leeters.
checked the acc online yesterday and our joint acc is now showing as closed with a balance of £0, does this mean they have closed the acc and will not be asking for the money from my partner? as far as i am aware if the acc balance is £0 then we owe nothing.
any thoughts?

HI, i work for the said bank, unfortunately. The account will be closed if it says it online, also, it would still show a debit balance if they had just closed it and not cleared the balance. so since it shows a £0 balance, they probably have just written off the overdraft because you told them that you are bankrupt.
BUT get it in writing from them that the balance is zero and that the account is closed!
Never assume anything with hfx. always get confirmation in writing that the account is closed and nothing is owed on it. just send them an email via your internet banking asking for this.
If you can print off online statements showing nil balance, then do this too.
Hope this helps.
