Short term car insurance?

Hey,
Ok so I am 21, and have pretty much just passed my test. I am looking to go on a test drive, so need to take out some insurance. I don't want to take out a full policy incase it's not suitable and they'll charge cancellation fees etc.

The only short term insurance places I can find stipulate you must be 21 and have your license for a year.

Can anyone recommend an insurer that might be able to help?

I have heard of this company, but I have never used them:

You could always take a parent with you to drive the car on the test drive. Also, they will be able to judge the car better. For example, how good the brakes are and steering. I know the car isnt for them, but they will have much more experience in assessing a car.
