Hope it's ok to post this here, but whilst I am looking for 'a bargain', I do want it to work and I hope and think that all you crafty talented people down here might be the best to advise please.
My son age 7 has weaved at school and loves it. He has put a weaving loom on his list to Father Christmas.
Searching on amazon, ebay etc, there are loads available although some look a bit 'girly' but how to choose - which are really any good for a beginner?
I can't really afford to buy something that looks great, but in reality is a bit useless and will never be used past January.
I would be most grateful please if anyone could spare a few mins to point me in the right direction.
Many thanks

Hi if you want a "proper" loom you could try The Loom Exchange http://www.theloomexchange.co.uk/ - you may find them a bit daunting though!!! Ashford make a "knitters loom" which sits on the table and is easy to use - I know the Alpaca spinner http://www.thealpacaspinner.co.uk/ sells those and ashford are probably the best for small looms for your son. I am not a weaver - it's all gobbledygook to me, but I am a spinner and dyer. The Association of Guilds of weavers spinners and dyers will have a branch near where you are - if you go on their website http://www.wsd.org.uk/ you can find your nearest - someone within the guild may be able to help you, or even have something suitable.
Hope that helps a little,
Cheers,
Deb0
