Moving whilst BR

Myself and my husband have decided to move back to Bristol from Devon as he cant get a job, there is just no work there. I kept my job in Bristol and earn fairly good money, £24,000.
We rent so its no problem leaving the house we ar ein down there, but I'm so worried about finding somewhere. I wont pass a credit check, dont have 6 months rent saved up but my dad could possibley be a gaurantor.
I went to see a property yesterday that was ok but not really in the right area, Im also off to see one tongiht that sounds promising.
I spoke to one lady from an ad placed on Gumtree and she said she would do a credit check. I had to be honest and said I was BR and she said it would be ok. She rang me back to cancel as her 'co owner' didnt want to take the risk! What risk is there, Im at a better position to pay my rent now than ever before, oh well.
The one Im seeing tonight is also a private one so I hope I can get away without telling him.
i dont want to end up homeless :-(

Hello SB
I think you're doing the right thing by telling them you're bankrupt but stress that you have a guarantor due to your poor credit rating.0 -
Exactly the problem I had trying to find somewhere for me and my ladies. I have been lucky - because it's only a six month let, and the landlady liked my little madam when we were walking round the house, she agreed to forego the 6 months up front, but we did need to provide a guarantor.
I decided honesty was the best policy because of the fear of getting caught out, and also because people may surprise you.

Honesty is definatly the best policy. Make sure you stress you have no debts so will have no problems meeting your bills and can't get into any more debt. Also that you have a guarantor.Namaste DeeDee x0

Hi SB,
from my experience today you may have to pay fees up front for 3 people!
i am moving to rented with guarantor have to pay bond of 10 weeks rent (2.5 months) as per normal let.(AGENCY:eek: not private)
I am not going to argue the case just an extra £70.50 as oppose to an extra £1700!!!!!
