Void period letting a flat - is this a loss on tax return?

Hi,
Sorry, probably a dim question, but when you have a void period (when flat is empty) when letting out does this count as a loss and is it shown any where on your tax return to count as a deductible against letting income?
Many thanks in advance for any advice.

No it's not a loss, just zero income.0

You may make a loss for the period in as much as you had overheads and maybe mortgage interest to pay. You may be able to carry forward this loss and set if off against any future profit - that is any rental income in the future which results in a surplus over your costs. I would consult an accountant to see what your options are.0
