Yes Tgi's is definatly open. Opened just over a week or so.
I have been and thought it was great.
Everything you come to expect from TGI's was there, the cocktails, the music, the food was really good and you could not fault our service. A thouroughly pleasant night.
Thank goodness, it could so easily of been a big disappointment0 -
Yup, I got there on Friday, food not as expensive as expected, once you flick past the steaks and onto the burgers! Really tasty, good fast service. Makes the other places in Vic Sq look expensive.0

Any updates ? anyone been lately.?
I'm thinking of trying it this week..0 -
Went down to check it out the other day, it wasnt open but the menu at the front door only shows the expensive options, would have been nice to see the burger options too0

Went on Friday 14 Nov. The place was empty and I'm very sorry to say that I could have got a better burger and chips at McDonalds.
Very disappointing as I have been in their restaurants in various places and always found them good.0 -
Have to agree with Ex- , I went last week and was disappointed. Quality of food wasn't good for the price, I also have had better at Mc Donalds.
It was a bit like Wetherspoons only double the price, we had to send drinks back as they were flat and they forgot to bring one of the meals and the others were finished by he time it arrived. Food was a bit cold!
Don't think I would go back.0 -
Am I the only one who sees a trend here? We seem to be getting a lot of the Restaurant chains setting up here recently, Nandos, TGIFs, Chillis etc, but they don't appear to be living up to the reputation they have across the water.
There are always exceptions to the rules, but reading the threads here, mostly around the Victoria Square location, there seems to be a lot of disappointment.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0 -
I too was at TGI's last Tuesday.....and it was very bad.
Took the girl 20 mins to bring our drinks (their was only us and 6 others in the whole place!) then an age to get the food-we both had bacon/cheese burgers which came un-dressed,not hot and the bun was as hard as a rock-it had been frozen and defrosted in a microwave and not even toasted...we complained about it but the waitress said it had been burnt-it was completley white,no colour at all, lol. Then waitress took the huff and stropped about when my mum didnt leave a tip (5% service charge was added into the bill!)
Anyway-AVOID!
On a better note hubby and i tried Frankie and Bennys diner type place and it was fab on Saturday night-very busy, great atmosphere and great food!

Think it depend on one's expectations really. In the past week, I or my friends have tried out La Tasca and Frankie and Benny's and both had good service, food and drink.
Something being in Victoria Square (or anywhere else) doesn't guarantee quality.0
