Do I need to tell the mortgage company that partner is moving in?

Just thought of something... My OH is moving in with me in a couple of weeks. He'll just be paying half the bills by doing a standing order into my account. I'll still pay all the bills and everything will stay in my name. No point changing it all as we're planning on selling my flat next year and getting a house together if we haven't killed each other.
So... I'm going to tell the council (since I currently get single person's discount on council tax), and the contents insurer indirectly as we'll need to increase my contents cover to account for his stuff. And obviously he'll go on the electoral roll.
Is there any reason I'd need to tell my mortgage company? The flat's staying in my name, no effect on the mortgage (it's in my name with HSBC).
He actually banks with HSBC so if they were clever they'd figure it out anyway when he changes his address with them lol.

I can't see any reason why you would need to tell your mortgage company?0

Nor can I particularly, just wondering.

No reason. If you did tell them, they may offer you (vague as from memory) some sort of disclaimer you can have your partner sign pretty much stating the property is yours (with a view to protecting you). Not sure what the legal position with this is. Doubt it stands for much and didn't bother myself.0

You don't need to tell your mortgage company in this situation.
The only time you would need to tell them would be if he was already living there when you took out the mortgage, as he would have to sign a disclaimer to say he had no proprietory rights, but as he moved in after the lender took the charge over the house, this isn't an issue.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
