Well only that the cheapest ones may not have a very high spin speed, and that means your washing will come out quite soggy, so if you haven't got anywhere good to dry it then the place will forever be full of wet washing.

I would do a general search on the board for washing machines and get a bit of an feel for what brands people love and hate. Also go to local library and look at Which? reports.
When you've decided what you want it's time to take Martin's advice about shopping around. And if you decide to buy online DO NOT use Empire Direct, IYWMA!
Sorry if that doesn't help a lot, only I've noticed a big difference when I've used machines with a lower spin speed so would now always go for one with a higher spin speed.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Beko seems to be the cheapest that I would find on pricerunner, at comets. the link is below,

Is it better to get a combined washer dryer?
What is the optimum spin speed if anyone can advise me

combination washer dryers are a bit of a mongrel really.
A washing machine drum and dryer drum are completely different, therefore a washer/dryer does neither perfectly.
Also a 6kg washing machine drum can only dry 3kgs of washing, so after washing a full load you need to halve it to dry, as for optimum spin, unless you are washing loads and loads of towels, 1200 rpm is fine.
As always you usually get what you pay for, but a decent quality at a decent price is usually a Creda0 -
I'd add to Langland's comments the blindingly obvious but sometimes overlooked fact that a washer drier can only do one thing at a time (it's a man thing ;D). So if like me you do 3-4 loads twice a week it will drive you round the bend because you have to wait three times as long before you can put the next load in. It might be fine for someone doing 1 load at a time.Is it better to get a combined washer dryer?

I'd look at a Which report for spin speed comments: it's a long time since I had to look, but I think they found that a higher quoted spin speed didn't necessarily get washing any drier from brand to brand. I wouldn't go for anything less than 1000 myself.
I know that on the very rare occasions when I use a program which ends with a slow spin rather than a fast one I can tell the difference! And promptly do a fast spin to finish off.Signature removed for peace of mind0
