thought i would join you all

Just wanted to say hi again, I was posting in this thread at the begining of the year, but due to the military changing its mind and sending my hubby away we had to cancel the wedding we never had, so now he is out for good, we are going to renew our vows and have a wedding of sorts. I am trying to do this on a very restricted budget, I am hoping, being the frugal person I am to do it for no more than £1000.

I am thinking registry office (late in the day), for the renewal, and then to a restaurant, for a meal afterwards, as it will be an intimate occasion. Hopefully with asking friends relatives to pitch in, cars, flowers etc, thinking of making a cake myself, we can hopefully do it. If we have to go a little bigger then use a social club for the reception.

I am calling the registry office today to see if they have our wedding date available for April 13 2009, hopefully they do, if not we will go with the same date 2010 and have a little more money to spend.

We could afford a bigger wedding, but i see it as a waste for us, secretly I am too cheap lol. Plus it will make it more fun finding things cheaply.:D

thankyou flowerscotland, i just booked at the registry office, go in next week to pay for Tuesday 14th April, at 3.45 pm, and have just phoned the social club, and they are charging me £25 for hire of the room the cost of extra staff at their wage rate for the 2 extra hours before they officially open. Buffet is £3.99 a head. The room holds 130 comfortable with 180 max, not that we will have anywhere near that number of guests, and everything is in a 3 mile radius of the house, the social club is 3 minutes drive from the house.

Going to the social club tonight just to check it over as it has just been renovated. With it being a social club, they have the back room booked for a darts lol, so may have afew party crashers, but i dont care as there are only 7 of them LOL.

    I am so excited now.

    Hello there,
Making a wedding cake is so easy peasy it really is a case of chucking everything in together and mixing, needs a bit of maintenanc afterwards but like i say - piece of cake!!!! , i made mine but had to find someone to ice it.

    Good luck
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
