I don't know if it has already come up, but there is a site called u-handbag (think I've got it right) that is pretty well-known in crafting circles, it provides kits/materials for people to make their own bags. If you contacted the lady who does it maybe she would take an interest and feature you? (or offer you a good rate for advertising).
Or there is project wonderful, which offers pretty cheap advertising on blogs (lots of craft ones) - obviously the more traffic the more expensive, but it seems cheaper than e.g. adwords, and you choose what you pay.0 -
Actually on PW I think some blogs offer FREE advertising (presumably while they get going, to attract advertisers while they get their traffic up).0

You could offer little bags of offcuts and scraps for prizes for crafty purposes to well-known craft blogs (in return for a plug of course). Blogs love to have prizes to offer, it spikes up their traffic.
Or do kits with the materials and pattern for your Ipod cover, for those who like to make things rather than have them ready-made. Great present for crafty friends and relatives.0 -
Hi Icewytch,
I know i'm getting a bit nutty with this, but I think this is fairly major: Naomi Dunford at Ittybiz gets a TON of traffic, and she's inviting readers to submit info on what they sell for a holiday season gift guide. This is the page, it's about half-way down:

But the deadline is Nov 15th! Hurry! I bet lots of lovely Americans would love a sheepskin rug...0 -
Thinking of getting myself one of your rugs as a christmas present for myself. Looks like you're going to be getting alot of sales from this site :rotfl:
Feeling any better?0 -
I wrote to the bank to ask for charges refunded...not even the whole amount, only the past years. They sent me back a letter saying about the cases being reviewed by the office of fair trading etc, and giving me a HUGE form to fill in, and telling me that if I go ahead with it, they will basically take control of my account. They will cancel non essential direct debits and standing orders (the only ones I have are council and rent which MUST go to my landlady who lives in Spain!) and that they will cancel cheque books, divert income to a new account (what the heck?)etc...
My instinct is to not go ahead with this. Yes I am in overdraft but rely upon it at the moment to pay rent etc. I have no `fripperies` going out, it`s ALL essential!
But if I don`t go ahead with this, they make it clear my chances of having any charges refunded are essentially zero.
I give up.
I`ve had it. 0 -
If you make nice rugs how about throws and blankets? My mum would be in heaven with a nice sheepskin blanket, fleece just isnt up to the job of warming someone with Fibromyalgia! Some people feel the rain...others just get wet0

*hugs* Welcome back, hon! Was getting worried about you...
I'm no expert here, but I don't like the sound of what the bank are going on about. Anything they suggest will ultimately be for their benefit, not yours!
I really do not see a reason why you should not be considered a hardship case for the bank charges! For goodness sake, you're struggling to afford food and heating, and it's their charges which are keeping things this way! So don't give up here, maybe call the CAB for some advice?
Is there any way you can apply for a bank account with a completely different bank, and transfer all your income to that? Sounds like it's time to stop banking with this lot and take your custom elsewhere as they are biegn so unreasonable.
*hugs*

WOW, those rugs look beautiful!!! Cant afford one just now, but rest assured once I get myself a job I will be investing in one or two. Have got a reindeer fur rug and I cant stand to touch it, but im ok with sheepskin for some reason lol.
gxxDebt free 3 years early :j
Savings for house deposit - very healthy
Cash back earnt so far £14.570 -
I'm a sheepskin convert - just got some Ugg boots for my birthday (they're only £50 at M&M direct) and they're the cosiest things in the world. Don't suppose you could make something like that? The normal price of Uggs is well over £100, and they only use a tiny amount of sheepskin in them!
Good luck with everything, bin that bank and start again with another.0
