Is shop advertising donations immoral?

Hi,

I was going to buy online recently and noticed that the shop said they donate some of their profits to Charity.

I don't know what to think of this, at first i thought it was a good thing but could they be using this to make people buy from them, is it immoral, shouldn't they just do it without advertising it?

On the other hand by letting people know they make donations they may make more sales and so their donations go up but ofcourse the shop benefits also. Its put me off shopping there for now. Maybe I am not thinking straight.

Any ideas.

If they had the item I wanted at the same price as other e-tailers, I would probably buy from them knowing that at least some part of it goes to charity, however I would read reviews and google about the company first (problems/deliveries/SERVICE!) before making my final decision -

Its probably a sales ploy but If I'm not losing out and someone else may benefit then they deserve my business.

Would you buy fairtrade goods knowing that you may be helping people. I do and am prepared to pay a premium for it.
As others have said if it is not costing you and it benefits others then why not.
Obviously it has to be a reliable site and let the buyer beware as always.
