Home improvement grants

Hi

Does anyone know of any home improvement grants available. We are both in full-time employment but receivng minimum wage and have 2 children.

Any advice would be very welcome as I have no idea where to find this information.

If your getting ANY benifits eg tax credits, pension credits then basically your eligable (even if your benifit is only 1p per year).

I think you can get £6K in any 2 years for any repairs or double glazing, pvc doors etc..

If you dont get any benifits dont bother applying your just wasting your time.

To apply you get an application pack from your local council, we got ours from craigavon... here I think:
    http://www.nihe.gov.uk/index/yn_home/your_nearest/grants-office/yn-ygo-craigavon.htm

An inspector comes out and checks your house and decides if you can get anything. The scheme is open to any private home (ie not just NIHE)
