I need to buy a new freeview box, we have had a phillips one and other basic make in the past and noticed the phillips one gave a much better picture. Does anyone know where I can get a good quality one for the least amount of money? I have looked in argos and comet, currys but just feel a bit overwhelmed by all the choice out there.

Try Richer Sounds and ask them about their freeview clearance deals. Its site lists various end-of-line boxes, starting at just £4.99. Just scroll to the bottom of the freeview boxes page.0

We had an Aldi own brand one which seemed better quality than the standard makes: we didn't have to upgrade out aerial even though all our neighbours did. They also offer a 3 year warranty as standard (keep your receipt).0

Aldi are not selling freeview boxes at the moment but if you don’t mind waiting you could always sign-up to their email an keep an eye out to when they have them in stock.
bargainbird, can you give more details regarding the Teletext text message thing? Was that Oracle or Ceefax? And any other info you can think of that might help.0 -
