Charged twice by Argos!

Hi everyone,
Not sure if I have posted to the right forum, but just wanted to say that I bought a watch at Argos on Friday, and then today checked my credit cards transactions online and realised I had been charged twice for it. I phoned my credit card company and they said they were aware of the problem - it had happened to lots of people. Argos say they are going to refund the duplicate transactions within 48 hours -so check your statements if you shopped at Argos recently!

This also happened to me too I went into the store this morning to be told the same as you. I bet it gave Argos bank account a boost on friday!!

This also happened to me, I placed online order Friday night, got told card declined, so left it until I could give the bank a bashing the next morning, (as I had plenty of credit) - they said payment authorised and NOT taken, although the argos email said declined

Got a call from argos yesterday asking if I wanted 2 kingsize beds that I had ordered, and paid for :eek:

Payment should be back with me within 5 days.

Do we have to contact argos, or will this all be done automatically...
I almost went overdrawn with the second one coming out.. i wonder if they would have paid the charges?

I heard about this on the news this morning that Argos had charged about 200,000 people twice for transactions made on Friday, there is no way they wont give you the money back as it was on National News.

After reading this I checked my credit card statement as I had made a purchase last Friday at Argos. I had indeed been charged twice, but this had been refunded on the same day.
