offset mortgage

Hi everybody, I read up on a couple of threads on the forum and like to get some advise.
I would like to know if offset mortgage is for me. Here are the figures:
Mortgage - offset fixed at 5.8% for 2 years
ISA savings - 12,000 (at 6.7%)
Total mortgage - 130,000
I am also paying high tax band
I will be making overpayment and still have saving every month as I have no credit card loans, no car loans, no wife or kids!
Also I need to know how to have income tax exemption as I am employed. How do inland revenue know that I am using all my income to offset the mortgage?
I know its a lot of questions as I am totally new to this type of mortgage. Thanks very much for everyone who help.
