Woolwich mortgage - change from DD to SO?

Hello all
I currently have a Woolwich mortgage that I pay by direct debit each month. Unfortunately, it's not possible to change the date that the DD leaves my account, and I would like to pay it a little earlier in each month. I would also like the option of overpaying by a few quid a month if possible. I believe setting up a standing order would achieve this?
Does anyone know how easy this is to setup? Can I just call and get the bank details? I recall my last phone call to Woolwich mortgage customer services being a little traumatic

I can relate to that, just called Halifax and actually cried with frustration once I put the phone down (in my defence I am off sick today so feeling a little delicate - LOL)
I digress, its certainly how it works with my bank, when I first changed mine I had to get Halifax to set up the SO as I wasn't able to do it myself, I guess its so they can confirm the repayment method is set up, if you have online banking you should be able to see the account details needed so you could try just setting it up yourself if you're reluctant to call, or you could always leave the DD and set up an SO for the additional amount....
Good luck with the call!!

I phoned them and it was all rather straightforward
The woman gave me the bank details and said she had cancelled the DD. I then deleted it via my Lloyds online banking panel and setup the standing order to include a small overpayment. Easy
