  • Well I owe my Mom a little bit, The council £92 for cancelling my Gym membership without giving them 3 months notice when they told me I had to be a member for at least 3 months before cancelling but lets not go there. I also have bits and bobs which I need to pay off. The £3k was an estimate which would clear everything I owe and a little extra to put me on the straight if you know what I mean.

Yea I work as a chef, I earn usually £150-£250 p/w before tax, then pay £30 p/w rent to my mom. *only 19* So doesnt really leave me with much at the end of every week.

  • To be honest I dont really have many bills to pay out apart from things like £30 rent to my mom, A contract phone. Sky TV in my Room. My main outgoings are on non-essential items because im 19 and have a girlfriend I have a very active social life. I go to Raves and nights out, Not as much as I used to but its the only time I ever really enjoy myself. Also take my gf out to the cinema every now and again and just little things and before you know it all your moneys gone again until the folwing friday when I get paid.

I know that people will say, dont go out and stuff but im 19 and I dont really want to stay in all the time and im pretty sure my gf would get fed up if we never done anything or went anywhere.

Also know that I cant sort this out until I help myself by doing this, Im just going to have to have some massive cut downs and start saving alot more.

Hi, just wanted to reply to say please DON'T get a provident loan - like others have said they charge extortionate interest, you will just be digging yourself into deeper debt.

If you really try, you can get that debt paid off by budgeting and giving up a few nights out. You keep saying you are only 19 and need to have an active social life, but you CAN still go out (just not as much) until you've paid back the debt.

    Good luck! :rudolf:

Write a full list of the cost of each of these outgoings ;)

    eg.

    Rent £30
    Contract phone £140
    Sky TV £30
    Raves £100
    etc., etc...

and then the same for the income...

then the other members here can give you further help and advice :)

What do you owe currently and to whom?

I had the same letter ! there are much better ways to get out of debt if you take advice from the good, knowledgeable people here :money:
