Overpay on RBS Mortgage

Does anyone overpay on their RBS mortgage?
I have asked the customer help line how to do this and they say send a cheque or ring up with a debit card payment. I bank online and would like to make transfers when i can.
RBS did tell me their sort code and the representative did say that some customers do make payments via online banking but she didn't know how.
I bank with Alliance and leicester and also have a HSBC account.
Cheers

On my previous RBS mortgage, I had their bank details so I could make one-off payments online from my own bank account (Coop) as and when I had money to spare.
When I moved house and finally got round to having some spare cash to be able to do a similar thing, they gave me the same story about using a debit card or sending a cheque.
Despite me saying I knew I could previously do it differently, they were insitent these were the only methods possible (maybe they have changed their systems), so I used the debit card route.
However, one time I called they said I could set up a regular over-payment to go out with my normal monthly payment which I have now done. I can change it any time I like by calling them (must remember to increase it now as I've just had a letter with my new reduced monthly payment). It's not as flexible as I would like but it does keep me ticking along.0 -

I make my payments using my on line bank bill payments using the mortgage account number or as your advised. You can pay as much or as little when ever you you want.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4
