Please can anyone help me?
Looking for the cheapest and best deal on a remote control car for teenage son. Looking at petrol ones..... going no more than 35-40mph (very max) and possibly around £100-150.
Which is the best store to purchase this from??
Don't know anythig about them...but making investigations now....!!!!

£100-£150? I wouldnt even bother looking especially if this is his first RC car. there are 2 types of "petrol" fueled cars petrol the stuff from shell and nitro. your only option at that price is the cheap, generic, chineese tat, difficult to find replacement parts for cars. His first car it will hit a wall once or twice and break if you can't get parts then it will be broke more than running which is never good.
decent radio gear costs a lot, he doesnt want to be going out of range at 30mph.
motors yeah they are stupidly expensive.
the rolling chasis again can be expensive.
Reasoning behind not spending £150 on a car is that as your teenage son gets older and wants to progress in the hobby it is either buy a new car and start again or upgrade the car he has with new and better bits. the generic cars aon't be able to take the upgrades due to the quality of the gearboxes chassis etc.
For advise find your local model shop and pay them a visit they should know their stuff and be able to advise you especially when buying a first time car, back when I started everything was electric with the odd nitro around but it has all moved over to nitro and the electric doesnt really get pushed any more but electric is a great way of learning how it all works without the mess and maintanence that is required on a wet fuel car.0 -
Thanks for the information - I certainly still have some research to do!!!0
