I don't think people who have been bankrupt or who are having problems having had debt problems in the past are getting any advice from this programme. A lot of the advice given is for people who have good credit ratings (such as switching to other credit cards, cashback cards etc). There must surely be things that people with bad credit ratings can get, or are we to be treated like lepers all our lives?

Martin did say about the credit card shuffle WITHOUT taking out additional credit cards, just my shifting the debt from one of your existing cards to another existing card can save you £££'s.
All the other money saving advice - train tickets (last week) and tips on getting the best deals with insurance, cash back eg quidco etc will reduce your outgoings and then you can afford to pay off your debt faster thus reducing the amount of interest you have to pay. This alone can be 1000's of £'s if your on a 'we got you now and are gonna bleed you dry' APR rate.
To be honest the money you get back on a cashback credit card is very little - maybe less than £200 a year for most people and after spending a LOT of money on a cc.0 -
people who have been bankrupt don;t have credit cards so the advice on cards is useless.
The rest of what you say is fair enough0
