Narrow bedside tables / cabinets

Help! I've checked the usual places - Ikea, the high street stores (Next, John Lewis, M&S etc), but I'm being a bit specific.
I'd like to find oak (not veneer) - but modern - bedside cabinets, but they can't be any more than 40cm wide. I suspect that custom-made will be expensive, so was hoping to source something from a store.
Can anyone suggest where to look for such things with such a specific requirement?

Well Annie, I've not managed to find anything so far, and as you can see no one else could recommend anywhere!
I've put off redecorating my bedroom until the new year so the search is on. If I find any, anywhere... I'll let you know where!0 -
This was asked in the Guardian of 15th November. Answer is probably not what you want, but here goes
Seeking slim bedside cabinets
Our bed stands in a kind of alcove in the bedroom with only about 42cm of space on each side. I am looking for two bedside cabinets that will fit those spaces and are either a similar wood to the bed (dark cherry) or something totally different and modern. They should be at least 50cm high so the light from the bedside lamps on them is good for reading.
Here - in ascending price order - are our top five slim-fitting cabinets: Vinstra three-drawer chest in white gloss (39cm x 39cm x 66cm), £99, from Ikea (0845 358 3364, ikea.co.uk). Radnor painted bedside table in oyster grey with one drawer (40cm x 40cm x 65cm), £149, from Oka Direct (0844 815 7380, okadirect.com). Solid American oak and wax polished cabinet with two drawers (40cm x 40cm x 61cm), £195, from Heal's (020 7636 1666, heals.co.uk). White metal covered bedside cabinet with one drawer and two doors (40cm x 35.5cm x 60.5cm), £295, from Graham & Green (020-7243 8908, grahamandgreen.co.uk). Wave two drawer bedside cabinet in oiled oak or cherry veneer (40cm x 44cm x 51cm), £350, from the Conran Shop (020 7589 7401, conranshop.co.uk).
and just yesterday
Re Seeking Slim Bedside Cabinets (November 15), we found Nolte Möbel chests ideal. They are 40cm wide. Call 01756 700456 for stockists.

Looking for similar so thought Id bump this up again! Looking for even narrower as we have brought a king size bed and have fitted wardrobes either side so anything up to 32cm wide, depth can be anything 30-40cm.0

No luck anyone? Surely there is demand for narrow bedside tables?0

I too am also looking for slim cabinets. I couldn't find any so I now have those plastic shoe boxes stacked by my bed with all my bits and pieces in. Not the same as having nice cabinets though. I have to be careful not to knock the bedside clock off. I am trying to find a carpenter who can make them for me but will probably cost a small fortune..0

Just a thought - perhaps it may be worth checking bathroom and kitchen storage cabinets as well as looking among bedroom furniture. When you checked Ikea, did you look at the bathroom cabinets? There are some slim ones there.
Ikea also has a slim book shelf which you can get removable boxes and baskets for (I think it is either expedit or lack) which could work.0 -
I'm looking for bedside tables 30-37cm wide and can't find any anywhere! I'm now trying telephone tables and bathroom furniture. Good luck, hopefully we'll find something soon
