Split up with wife.. got no money and CC and a loan to pay...

Erm, help...

Missed 2 card payments last month and the same will happen this month. And am starting to get phones calls

As I need to pay my half of the house etc as she needs to keep it for the kids (it is up for sale tho) plus a rented flat and erm food ! and to live.

Lucky me, had all the debit in my name... so that's the cars, and our wedding last year... about 20k ish if not more

    Hi

Put together an SOA and then give one of the debt charities a ring. They can advice. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/debt-help-plan#help

Can you offer them token payments for a while - £1.00, £5.00 or whatever you can afford. National debtline has a letter I think that you could use to write to your creditors explaining your situation and offering what you can afford.
Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free :)
    Mortgage free since 2014 :)
  • I pay about £450 on loans and CC a month (alot but was manageable when I was with wife) I am about £200 short currently, well I either eat, drive to work etc. so I can more t han make token payments.

Will have a hunt round, thanks

phone the cccs - at the initial phone call they give a client reference number.

they explain what you need to get together and arrange to phone back to go through income and expenditure.

next time the cc call explain you are taking advice and give them the reference number - even if you haven't had the full interview - ask them to put your account on hold for a couple of weeks. this will give you some breathing space while you work out what to do.
