Still possible to sell your endowment?

Last year the surrender value for my endowment was £16K and one of these companies that sell endowments said I would get over £18K.

Is it still possible to get more for an endowment by selling it rather than surrendering it in the current climate or is this a thing of the past?

Has anyone done this recently and got a good deal?

I failed to get an offer in excess of Standard Life's surrender value.

But I would have thought a falling market actually makes selling a policy more likely rather than less likely.

Ultimately, it depends on when the policy is taken out, current surrender values which differ by company and what the TEP companies think will happen between now and maturity.

In theory now should be a good time to get a good deal on selling an endowment, because companies are imposing exit penalty MVRs on surrenders.

Yes. However, liquidity is an issue at the moment.
