Urgently need info on Sky package 1J (£32) please

Hi,

Having been on MSE I found out about package 1J some months ago, which give you basically the family pack, plus sky sports 1 and 3, and the even movie channels. This used to cost £30.50 but recently went up to £32.

Well I've had an ongoing saga with Sky in that since their package restructure I've been trying to get them to send me the info I need in order to downgrade some of the channels and pay less.

Finally got the details today, and I want to keep Sky 1 + 3 and the even movie channels as I have them now, but only keep 2 of the 6 'entertainment' segments. She said that'll cost me £34 - MORE than the £32 I am currently paying to have more channels!!

Anyway, the point of this post is that someone then rang me back to say she needed to investigate why I have this package as I should not have been on it. She was quizzing me as to how I got onto it etc. I said a friend had it so I rang and asked for it. I'm worried now they'll say I should have been paying the full package price all this time and will want back payments off me.

So please does anyone have any more info on this 1J package? Who is it given to (other than MSErs who ask for it!) and was the price correct? This is urgent as she's calling me back this afternoon and I want to be armed with the correct information.

Never had this package myself but it was available as far as I know up until Sky revised there offerings. There is a breakdown of their old packages here:

So as you can see they were available to all.

Your problem now seems to be that they only offer Movies and or Sports as single premium mixes. So you pay more.

Its not your fault that they have changed their offering without keeping you up to date.
If they are awkward cancel.

Hi penryh, thanks for replying. Problem is that I can't cancel as I'm tied into a 12 month Sky+ contract with them.

When the prices went up a couple of months ago I tried to cancel and was told I couldn't. I said it seemed unfair that when signing up to a 12 month contract they can then impose whatever price increases and you are stuck with them, but they said hard luck

So as much as I would love to cancel at this point, we don't have the option unfortunately. I'm really worried they're going to call back and say we need to pay extra for all these months on this package, and then make us have a more expensive one too with less channels.

I have a copy of the package matrix from the Sky website where the 1J package is listed at £29. There is no reason why you "should not have it".
