Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows of companies in NI who will supply and/or fit any sort of cat proof fencing to keep our cat in the garden and keep other cats out?

Sounds like you either need an electric fence (only joking) or a mesh cage built. If you don't want an unsightly cage you'll have to either make the fence with sheets of wood or steel and build it quite high too. The cats may well claw their way up the wood sheets if they are determined enough to get in or out, so you may need the more expensive steel or a hard surfaced plastic to do the job right.

    where abouts are you?

I'm in south Belfast. I'm looking for a company that's experienced in cat proof fencing as it does has specific requirements.

He's a climber, even at 15 he's like a rat up a drainpipe when he sees another tom in his garden  He has a run and gets little trips around the garden on good days in his harness & extending leash but I'd like to give him a bit more room.

Never heard of a company like this, but after a search on google I noticed their are kits you can buy which seem quite easily erected and not as obtrusive as a big fence, etc.

Yeah, I was looking at those kits. Problem is that I have a chronic illness and himself isn't too keen/has enough to do. The garden is also sloped so getting someone in to do it would be an easier option atm.

I have one I ordered online from Australia!
I think its called ping string. A mild electric shock from a bettery unit is discharged in two of the three fine electric wires make contact with a cat. Mine have stopped trying to escape now so i dont even turn it on anymore(ssshhh...dont tell them)!

OH installed it without much bother, a bit fiddl;y and time consuming I suppose.
You need to keep shrubbery well clear of the boundary and keep creepers under control so they dont short circuit the system.
Im inclned to think that if your cat ( and good on him still climbing at 15!) is a climber by nature, you may be better off with and enclosure like a large area with a gate made of trellis and a fine net roof or wire mesh maybe. The bigger you can make it the less it will look like a prison cell, more like an integral part of your garden design.
Good luck, let us know what you decide!
