perhaps its the way i have been bought up - who knows- and i dont want to start a debate but i feel like i should do all the house hold things as i am the woman and he is the bigger earner!
I know that is very sexist in this day and age but its how my mum and dad did it and how their parents did it. He doesnt 'expect' me to do it but i feel its my 'job'.
besides - he cant cook - or use the washing machine. no matter how many times i show him!! He helps occasionly with the cleaning but i feel like i have to re-do everything he has done anyway! his clean is not my clean!!!
Interesting! If you were truly in this traditional role though, you wouldn't be working at all - you'd be a housewife!
Doesn't matter one jot that he earns more than you - you both work full time so you should both put in equal amount of effort to the housework. And really - he can't use the washing machine?? What tosh. The way you run your relationship is your own business, and I know you said you don't want a debate, but I'm an old bird
and old hand at this relationship lark and be warned that you may well end up resenting being the 'mother' to this 'child' one day!
Anyway, that aside, it's hard for people to advise you on how to save money on what you're spening without seeing your SOA, but I understand ifr you don't want to post it on a public forum - I know it's very personal information. If you want to clear your debt then I would stuff the housework for a bit and get that second job. A bit of dirt never hurt anyone!
Is there anything you could do working at home? Do you have neighbours with dogs that you could offer a dog walking service to? Maybe put a postcard up in your local post office. Babysitting?
Other ways to save money would be to visit the Old Style forums for advice on how to cut down your grocery spending. Reduce your gas and electric usage - turn lights off after yourself, reduce temperature on radiators etc. There's lots of tips on these forums.
Do you have anything you sell on eBay/car boot sale? Can you cut back on buying cosmetics/clothes/takeways or other treats that you normally buy?
Good luck - I hope you get there!
