Secured Loan?
I am looking to borrow about 3,000 for an upcoming wedding, ideally I would love an unsecured loan but due to me being a bit reckless 4 or 5 years ago then i dont think this would be possible
I checked my credit files and both experian and equifax show 2 defaults each, both for different things and all satisfied in either 2002 or 2003.
Apart from the above my financial situation isnt that bad, i earn 24k a year and apart from my mortgage the only thing I have on credit is for a Sofa, this was financed with Household Bank.
I have considered asking for a loan with Household Bank (HFC) mainly coz they are the only people to have accepted me for any kind of finance in the past 3 or 4 years.
I dont want to start applying for loans that will be turned down, this would affect my credit rating
i am aware it isnt ideal but is secured lending my only hope,

Why dont you post your outgoings and we will all see if we cant get you to SAVE the 3k for the wedding. You earn a good wage and 3k is not that much. Maybe this would be a possibility.
If you borrow the 3k secured, you will end up paying back 6k - what a waste.0 -
the wedding is in 6 months, theres no way i could save that amount.
maybe its bad planning by me but I only moved into my new house 6 months ago, so a new house AND a wedding in the space of a year is not great planning!
I'm surprised i would end up paying back double, i checked the uswitch website and they reckon i could get a secured loan of 7.6% (albeit 5k, but i could pay off my outstanding credit (sofa) and still have 3.5k for the wedding, this was with First Plus??)0
