Preserving poppies!
Comments
-
I bought one from the RBL on Saturday in my local Mr A's, and was offered a pin which I refused as I usually thread the green stalk through my handbag zipper.
I also have a car poppy from last year but put the appropriate sum of money in the box this year...don't know if I did the right thing
but my thinking is it saves on resources and the car ones are quite scarce so it gives someone else a chance of getting one. 0 -
They did a trial on the sticky back type last year as it is easier and safer for children and people with wobbly hands;) Both types are still available.
Have you thought about swapping your poppy for a pin badge? Just like the normal charity pins that you seem to get for just about anything they are available for £1 (plus postage if you buy online). They are not huge only about 1cm, but are visable on a tie or lapel. I wear this on my work uniform, but will wear the normal one for the service as I don't think it will be seen.
I plan to wear mine all year round now with my other charity badges. Obviously I will still donate next year.0
