wanna help drivers with poor eyesight

i am suprised how many drivers are out there with defective eyesight. they are the ones driving with fog lights on when visibility is clear. i help them out. when they are driving towards me i switch my main beam on. i hope it helps them to see me. when they are behind me i switch my rear fogs on. after all i dont fancy them driving into me and claim they did not see me. i think all MSE members should take a similar approach and help these low lifes who cant be bothered to get thier eyes tested

mind you if you know any opticians who do cheap eyetest in nottingham i will pass it on

happy motoring
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

  • yeah so putting your main beams on against a car coming towards you's a good idea then? no, all your doing is blinding the driver and causing a crash. not very clever are you
  • You can always try a quick flash of the main beam, not enough to blind anyone and maybe not immediately effective but if a few people do it during their trip they might get the message. Don't forget in this age of roadrage and roadside violence people are very wary, I've lost count of the amount of times that I've passed someone on a dual carriageway and tried to signal someone as I pass that they've been driving for miles with their indicator on and they sternly face forwards blatently doing everything to not look over. The reason is that people don't want confrontation and that's understandable. My motto is that you can only try, like flashing when someones forgotten to put their lights on, most of us have at one point or other.

On a side note I drive over two hours a day. I used to get relly angry at people that would blatently cut me or others up, or go in the wrong lane to avoid a cue. I'd do the swearing, hand-gestures and the like but at the end of the day it'd be me sitting there steamed up and then for the rest of the trip and beyond I'd be in a bad mood. Now being angry and controlling a metal box at 60+ miles an hour do not a good bed fellow make! So now I just let it happen, not saying I'd let someone push in a cue if it was blatent but I wouldn't go at any length to stop it and more importantly I will not stew on it afterwards. Happy driving = safer driving (on the most part!)

If only there was some safe and effective way way to signal to middle laners that it is ok to move over to the left when there is no-one in it for miles ahead........If someones comes up with a gadget I'll go on the Dragons Den to get some money to get it made!
