DVD recorder

Hello....
I need a DVD player ( I know, totally backward)...
Anyway, thought it made sense to get a DVD player/recorder with HardDrive so i can record lovely telly programmes and not channel hop when I get in from work but keep up with programmes I like instead... (currently hindered by crazy work hours)
Anyway, problem is have SKY free sat doo dah and no old fashioned analogue wire coz sky are naughty and removed it
(which is how it was when I moved in)... Will a DVD recorder record sky or is it all encrypted even tho its free?

You should be able to link the sky box and a digital recorder via scart and shouldn't need any old fashioned analogue wiring as the feed will come direct from the sky-box.
You could either get Sky+ and get both, guaranteed to work, for £75 fitted (if current customer and on offer I believe), or just get a DVD recorder and scart lead, which would certainly cost more?:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. I figured that since my sky is free it would work out cheaper than a 12 month subscription and installation of Sky +.
