Ceiling Fan

Hello Everyone,
I live in Edinburgh in a flat with 10ft high ceilings-- which is lovely, except that the heat from my radiators rises to keep my upstairs neighbours toasty while I'm still shivering! I dread to think what my heating bills will be like this winter.
I was recomended to have a ceiling fan installed and I've been researching types, sizes, prices and whatnot but I'm loath to actually buy anything online without having seen it in action first.
I've been to B&Q but frankly, I wasn't impressed. They seemed noisey and some wobbled alarmingly, and there was no one there who knew anything about them. John Lewis used to stock them, but now all you can get is a brochure to order one from.
Does anyone have one that they can recomend? Or does anyone know of a stockist in my area where I can go and have a look myself and ask questions?
Any advice would be appreciated,
Thank you!
