Not a member but the hospital is very impressive and the level of care really is Number One. I took my dad their for an op in July and he was really impressed with the hospital, staff and level of care.

  • I am a member because I live in Kent and the seemingly excellent, clean, hospital is within easy travelling distance. You don't get excluded because of previous medical condiotions, although you can't claim for 6 months. If you don't live near Benenden you need to see where the nearest UK treatment centre is and how far away you are.

I do know people who have been treated at Benenden and they can't speak highly enough of the care and it's significantly less expensive than private healthcare. The level of cover provided is different from private healthcare providers and you should make sure that it suits you. But at £1.25 per person per week it provides amazing value. An old friend of mine, Malcolm, is on the membership team and I am sure he will be pleased to help.
  • yes i am a member of beneden, and the prices are very cheap because you are expected to use the nhs as first option,
if you can't be seen within 6 weeks they will then pay for you to go private.

Money well spent if you are on awaiting list and better than paying private fees only to find you are excluded treatment due to some smallprint.

i used them once years ago, and saw a specialist next day privately, instead of worring for months. i got the whole family covered for £10/month.

you don't need to live near their hospital to benefit. most things today are dealt with in outpatients. you just get seen quicker:T

Please join. It is cheap, the cover you get is fantastic. I hope you never have to avail of it, but the peace of mind you have is worth every penny.
They saved my wife's life, as instead of having to wait 6 + months to see a consultant she was able to see one within 5 days. She was able to have a malignant growth removed, which would have probably have been cancerous before the NHS consultant seen her.

Join! I was covered by my dad's policy (I am now 30) and was able to see a neurologist within 2 weeks and it was 9 months on NHS - and I know this for sure because I was offered an NHS appt 9 months after my original appt with my GP.

Join now! Beneden is ace and worth every penny
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.
  • I was with them through my mother who is a civil servant. I snapped my crucitae and as there was a 9 month wait on NHS I was able to see a specialist straight away, which would have been a cost of £120 for the consultation if I had to pay privately.

However Beneden don't cover reconstructive surgery and I had to be referred back to the NHS which had a lengthy waiting list. But the £120 saving covered the cost of membership for 2 years I guess.
  • This a wonderful scheme to be on. I had a gall stone diagnosed and removed. MRSA free hospital, great treatment.

Also a CT scan within 10 days and then a hernia op!!!

Definately worth the very small amount of money it costs, £16 monthly covers 3 of us and you can aslo get support for other things they don't treat such as cancer.

    If you can join do!!!!!!!!:T
