AIC Chasing Me For AMEX
Turnover
Hi,
Basically I'm self employed and had a bit of a problem during the summer which resulted in some payments being missed on some credit cards and loans. All of the companies involved have been good and quite understanding. I've got agreements with them to settle the arrears.
The problem is AMEX. I did owe them about £12K. I was a day late in phoning them to let them know my other debts and before I knew it I was contacted by a company called AIC. AMEX had added around £2K to the debt, closed the account and transferred it to these people. They wouldn't accept any payment plan and basically said that they would issure a Statuary Demand and would then make me bankrupt. In a panic I paid them £2K with a view to trying to get the rest. They gave me a few weeks. I coundn't get anymore money together. Then I get a letter from some soliciters saying AIC where taking to court. So I have been waiting for the papers from the court. Then I get a letter from AIC saying because I haven't been in touch they will be making a visit to my home. I panic and phone them making them an offer to pay over 6 months. They won't have it and are now saying they are in the process of sending a SD.
I really want to tackle these people but don't know how.
Any help appreciated

I don't know the answer, I'm afraid, but just wanted to "bump" this one up so it doesn't fall off the front page.
I am sure someone with more info will be along soon, although the board is quite quiet today, so don't take offence if it is a while coming.
