I'm not exactly looking forward to being 30 but as it only happens once, I do want to "celebrate" it. Not really sure how though!
My birthday is Christmas Day, so can't do anything on the actual day, so also a bit unsure when to do something!!
Any suggestions gratefully received!

I think it'd help for more details - are you planning a party/ occasion with friends? will you be with OH/ family? do you want a party? or something quieter? I know for my 30th i'm planning a pink party! lots of balloons, pink sparklies... and hopefully pink champagne (or cheap 'PINK' substitute) which i tried and is very nice! give us more info and we'll get back to you xJust £10,852.28p to go...

I'd like to have a party with family & friends, but think it would be quite expensive to hire somewhere, for a DJ, bar etc, so I was thinking about going somewhere for the weekend with friends - such as Manchester, but I have no idea where to go!!! I live about 30 minutes west of Birmingham, but don't want to go there as I want somewhere different!!!
Thanks x:heart: I have this theory that chocolate slows down the ageing process.... It may not be true, but do I dare take the chance?0 -

If you go to Manchester, you can have a great night out in the Printworks - it's got loads of good bars/ eateries/ nightclub all under one roof. I went there for a hen party - Tiger Tiger was excellent. You could have a party at one of the places where there's already a party atmosphere but you just book a large table for a big group of family/ friends. That way, you don't have to fork out for the entertainment yourself - and your meal might even be free! I'll keep thinking...Just £10,852.28p to go...

When my frind turned 30 on January 1st, his wife took him away for a few days, and organised his birthday party for the 1st July!
He'd never had a BBQ for his birthday before!!0 -
My OH is 30 this December too, not really sure what to do for him either.
Been looking on buyagift through my cashback site, they have some fun ideas.
Had booked a trip to New York ( a naughty slip on the credit card:whistle:) but then found out I was pregnant and due 2 weeks before we were due to fly so had to cancel:rotfl: !!Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

For my 30th I asked friends to join me for a chinese buffet and took a big chocolate cake. It was really relaxed and lovely and everyone said they had a great time. I paid for wine and water to be on the table for people to drink and everyone paid for their own food. I made place cards and put favours (boxes of sweets) and party poppers on the table (checked with restaurant that this was ok first). I also made up a 'how well do you know me' quiz with a box of chocs for the winner. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0

That's such a shame you had to cancel, but at least it's for a good reason!!
Dropped hints to my OH to go to New York, but I don't think it's going to happen... I have this theory that chocolate slows down the ageing process.... It may not be true, but do I dare take the chance?0 -
Yes it is a good reason, I am not cross really, its our silly fault anyways. Very bad planning, or lack of it!!
