Just seen this:
http://www.isawitonthebox.com/tv/something-for-the-weekend/sega-retro-portable-games-console-as-seen-on-something-for-the-weekend/
It was reviewed on Something for the Weekend last week - £5 cheaper than advertised at Amazon.
At 25 quid it would make a MUCH cheaper alternative for the child yearning for a PSP this Xmas too!

I agree more with spendspendspend. If a child wants a PSP, either get them a PSP or don't. Giving them a chinese knock off with 1990's 32bit games will inevitably disappoint them and no amount of "It's just as good as a PSP" lies will convince them otherwise.
Result: An unhappy child and a parent who thinks their child isn't as "grateful" as they should be.0 -
It's not a chinese knock off it is an official licenced product.
Some of the classic 16 bit games knock the spots of some of the newer games.
Depends on the child as to whether they will enjoy them, I have a few young cousins who love playing sonic on the megadrive.0 -

I was slightly over exaggerating, and I agree that as a toy on it's own it could be good however the quote in post #1 offered it as a cheap alternative for a child who is "yearning for a PSP".0 -
There is an absolutly massive market in Retro gaming and you could probably buy the real thing for only a little more than £25. If you want a megadrive, then buy a megadrive. Personally though if you are a serious gamer I would go for the Super Nintendo as they have better games.Loving the dtd thread. x0
