Cheap Family railcard and cheap phone line for ppl on benefits

Hi

I got these two pieces of info through a bulletin I receive at work, have already posted each in the relevant bit (railcard under transport and families, BT under home tel.) but I thought that I'd also post them both here for my fav. forum, my Alma Mater, the OS forum!

Here they are, hope they help lots of people:

Until 30 November, National Rail is offering the one year
Family & Friends Railcard at just £18 (normal price £24). These cut a third
off an adult's ticket and 60% off kids' tickets when you have at least one
adult and one child travelling. You can have up to four adults and four kids
travel on one card. Visit National Rail
<http://www.familyandfriends-railcard.co.uk/> and enter code EXPERT18

and

BT has recently launched a new social tariff, BT Basic,
aimed at cutting the costs for those on certain benefits. It costs
£4.50/month (compared to the usual £10.50/month line rental). This gives you
line rental and includes £1.50 worth of calls each month. If you receive
Income Support, Jobseekers Allowance or Pension Credit and get it this can
be a serious saving. More at: BT Basic

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

  • Hi there  MSE doesn't encourage duplication of posts, as this can lead to confusion. As a compromise, I'm going to lock this post, and then add it to the Old Style Daily thread, once it falls from the front page of OS ;)
