Ladies scarf and glove set...

...as per title I'm after a nice scarf and glove set for the Mrs. I've been to Next & Top Shop, but can't find anything that will actually keep her warm as most of them seem to be for a look. Any ideas???

My favourite shop for scarves and gloves and hats is H&M. I bought so much stuff there last year I have not looked at this years range, but they have everything from 99p funky gloves to luxury soft leather.

If you are looking for the warmest gloves in the world, try an outdoor/camping shop. I have the gloves in "arctic" fleece and I can walk the dogs for an hour without my hands getting cold, but they are not so bulky that I lost control of the leash. They cost £20.

Have you tried M&S? And what about the department stores?
  • I've tried Debenhams, but not H&M or M&S - thanks I'll give them a try. Good idea about the outdoor store I'll have a look. The trouble is I don't want anything too big - ie not big ski gloves - and wanted a scarf to match.

Unbelievably Poundstretcher are normally great for these. I bought an arctic fleece set 3 years ago and they were so cheap but wonderfully warm and still look as good as new.

It depends on what she does most of, if its standing out in the cold, walking dogs etc you can get insulate gloves etc from the pound shop and my lot use them for weekends away, camping, scouting etc.

But it might be that she wants something a bit posher, more luxurious, maybe with lambswool or some cashmere in them??

Also think about the colour of her outdoor coat or her favourite colours.

My long winter coat is black so black gloves etc do go with it but I tend to go for bright pink or I'd look like a stick of liquorish, also easier to find in the dark of the understairs cupboard!

  • Dorothy Perkins have some brilliant set in at the moment from big chunky ones to chenille and in loads of different colours. Would highly recommend them for price and quality.

  • Had a look at the weekend and Tescos are doing some nice ones from £5 for scar and gloves. I opted for paying a bit more and got a set for a £10 that were angorra for my mum, but hey, mums are always worth it, right?

  • What about trying TKMAXX if you have one near by, they often have some excellent quality sets!
