  • I love mine too, I'm just getting the hang of it.
  • New firmware here:

I just had to open the Archos to compare it against the MPM-202 .. Im very impressed with the screen on the Archos but prefer the "feel" of the MPM.
Sound quality is a tad better on the Archos but I do like the tv tuner built into the cradle of the MPM.
Also the MPM plays some .avi files that the Archos does not, but maybe that will be rectified in tme.

The screen quality probably swings it for me .. but for the money I think the MPM-202 was a damn good buy.

A quality product. Everyone I've shown mine to, has bought one.

From here: www.dixons.co.uk search for "av560"
Add another low value item to take it over £300. I found a PC cable for £1.99

Use discount codes from pricerunner - (Try searching for "Nikon D200")
There's also a code for free delivery if you google for "dixons free delivery" (2nd Link)

Go through Quidco or Greasy Palm to get around 2% back on top also!

£5 or more less than last time this was posted.
  • Does the AV560 supplied by Dixons let you connect up to satellite box/video using a SCART cable?

    Dixons site doesn't say.

    Many thanks.

The Archos has Composite or SVHS input. You could connect using a Composite-> Scart adapter. You can also buy a little adaptor so you don't need the powered TV hub thing here...

    Highly recommend getting one.

Not the fastest company but they had to order them in from Archos.

IIRC the 100Gb version came with a couple of photo to scart adaptors.

This is compatible with the 560? The website only says 400 and 700.
  • Don't buy that, the power cable won't fit, meaning you can't charge it whilst that cable is connected. It has a major design flaw. Wait till the revised design is released by archos.
