hi, wonder if anyone can help me.....my bank acct has been closed, i had 2 letters within the space of a week from them one sayin my bank acct was over the overdraft and another sayin they had closed it. I had letters sent from my direct debit companies sayin they had notification from bank that acct was closed, when i called them they said it had been closed and i was to call them on the monday to make arrangements to pay back the o/d (£2000) My husbands wages were due that day and as they had said the acct was closed he made arrangements to have it paid into another acct. I have just had a letter sayin that they have taken his wages and we now owe them £166, this has left us with no money to live on or pay any of our bills......Can they do this is there anythin i can do to get the wages back??

I would check the terms & conditions of the bank account you had, banks do have a code they have to adhere to, and a week to tell you that they were to close your account and you were to repay your o/d in full seems not enough notice to me.
Had the bank deemed that you were conducting your account in a poor manner ? What reason did they give for taking this action?
A visit to the CAB would probably be very worth while.0 -
You could always apply for a crisis loan from the state, if things are that bad that you haven't got any food to eat.0

Hi trant6 and welcome. Are you bankrupt? If so then they have taken your money illegally and your OR can get it back for you. I don't really know where you stand though if you are not bankrupt.
