 sounds like you want an interior decorator who will project manage it with tradesmen they know, odds are it would still work out cheaper and higher quality than buying new but it depends what you want done.
 an additional advantage of buying old then renovating is any expenditure is after exchange so you will have a better LTV and can finance it an another way if you have less than a 30% deposit and it works out better.0

            Re any probs with new builds (snaggings) - arent flats covered by NHBC 10 year warranties? The point re rotten neighbours - you can get those whether or not they are housing association tenants. Id have thought you had more chance of getting them out than an owner occupier who was a neighbour from hell?0
