in Cutting tax
Hi all,
Some advice would be apprecieted!
I started working with a supply agnency at the start of September after being unemployed for a few months.
I've noticed on my weekly pay slips that my tax code is BR (basic rate i'm guessing!) I worked for 3 weeks in the summer at another job and asked for a P45 to be sent to me after i finished. I haven't received it and have no address or phone number for them to chase up! When i started at the agency I didn't fill out any tax forms.
Silly I know, i think i have to fill out a P46 so I can get my annual contributions included (the £6000 odd you can earn tax free.) I have asked the agency to send me a form but so far they havent and i'm just wondering if anyone knows:
How i can claim back the overpaid tax.
How do i get on the right tax code!
Any ideas would help as i am totally clueless about all this and its making my monthly wage quite low!
Thanks,
ljb.

As you don't have a P45 filling out a P46 is probably the best way to go.
You can get it from the HMRC website and hand it to your employer.

Once your tax code is correct any overpaid tax will be refunded automatically. How do i get on the right tax code!
Fill in the P46.0 -
Thank you so much! You are a star! I did try to find a P46 to print out and got no where! Thank you so much!0
