Hi Edinburghlass.

I've seen your post and this seems to suggest you think I'm touting, yet there is nothing in the thread to which you posted this comment where I have said something that could by any stretch of the imagination be construed as touting for business. The only person mentioning it was Jimmo. As for my post in a different thread, the OP was asking for a local (to them) accountant - so why could I not proffer my services in response? Now if that is the bit you object to I'm sorry (but maybe you should have posted to that thread if that is the case?) - I presume anyone making a post from now on asking for accountants needs to be told not to, by moderators such as yourself? As a newbie on here I clearly need to pick up on the forum etiquette, but maybe some establised members may need to be reminded about things such as politeness too!

I think that what members may take exception to is the use of your firm's name as your username. That, and your avatar "Merlin Accounts & Clerical Services" smacks of advertising. Now if you were happy to give advice under an anonymous username, that would be different. I'm sure you will be able to appreciate that.

I have seen others with user names that clearly are business names, so perhaps I'm not quite the pariah that some may think I am?

I trust that this is now the end of the matter and I can continue to post responses to users queries without further fuss.
