Dinner for two....

Been mega busy recently, so not really been on - however some vague form of weekend freeness this weekend - so going to do OH a nice dinner and evening in etc etc :j
However...bored of usual repertoirs of food - want to cook something he will be like
at... My normal food lists are: Stir fry, bolognaise, chilli con carne, pepper pasta (dry fried peppers with marscapone cheese served on pasta - yummy but fattning!!), curry (using jar sauce unless I make thai green curry), vegetable risotto and a variation of meat and veg... but want a new idea - have raided asda and sainsburys for ideas but to no avail...
He won't eat mushrooms or tomatoes (although will eat sauces of these), won't touch carrots and loves meat... I wont touch bacon or any meat on the bone or seafood....or carrots or swede.
If its vaguely possible sexy food would be good (ie. not cosy warm winter food) but want to keep fairly inexpensive and would like to cook myself....any ideas?!
I can't wait it will be so nice to spend time together XD hehe

Hi furball,
It sounds like you have a lovely evening planned!
How about a fish dish? ( when you say no seafood, i'm assuming you mean shellfish like prawns etc?).
I have 2 ideas:
Idea 1:
1) Put chunky White fish fillets (eg cod, haddock, coley) or salmon or trout in an oven dish,
2) drizzle with olive oil and season well,
3) sprinkle with breadcrumbs (mix the breadcrumbs with fresh or dried parsley or dill for a nice flavour)
4) bake in the oven at 160 degrees for about 15 minutes.
Serve with roast or boiled potatoes or potato wdges, and a green veg or nice mixed salad.
Idea 2:
Fish pie - plenty of recipes on here and pretty easy - takes a little while to assemble but looks v impressive.
Good luck!
A few candles on the table is a bit of cliche for a romantic meal, but does give a nice atmosphere!

Most men like a big steak. Jazz it up with some fancy veg and a yummy pudding. If you want to make it special wear something sexy. Have a cracking weekend.:DLife is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0

Yeah - I bought us a chocolate fondue set last Christmas - unfortunatley its at my mums in London (storage space purposes because I think that sounds weird!! Trying to minimise junk I have at uni as going out on placements woot). But agree its awesome.
The candles sexy clothes etc all under control was just stumped for food ideas - I'm so bored of cooking the same things week in week out - but Im terrible for looking at recipes and going ummm noooo.
The fish stuff sounds nice - can you get stuff like cod that guarentees to not have bones in? I don't even like the silver scales in it but I guess in a pie you wouldnt see them? It just grosses me out and then its game over at dinner time (yes, I have strange eating habits lol).
Thanks for your helps! Hope you all have an awesome weekend to

hiya,
You can buy cod with the skin taken off and no bones in the supermarket, or if you go to fishmonger they will do it for you if you ask.
Have fun!
